Young Professionals are an important segment of the global MTT-S community. They include both students and professionals undertaking some of the cutting edge research that will form the basis of tomorrow's microwave industry. MTT-S and IMS recognizes the importance of fostering the professional growth and development of its future and emerging leaders. Therefore, this year's young professional program features a special session as well as a complimentary reception.

Young Professional Discussion Forum: Awaken the Entrepreneurial Genius in You!

Abstract: This forum features speakers that are entrepreneurs in the field of engineering sharing their experience on building a successful company. They will highlight how their background i.e. academia, industry, etc. and experiences influenced their viewpoint and/or choices they made along the way.  It includes a panel discussion exploring the need, challenges and rewards of successful engineering entrepreneurship including how some of these barriers can be avoided and/or overcome.

Opportunity to showcase their science fair projects
Opportunity to interact w/ engineers and scientists, reps from universities and university engineering students
Opportunity to attend the vendor showcase (guided tour through event)

In front of the convention center, the Tampa Bay Water Ski Team will entertain you with their impressive skills, high speed jumps and exciting tricks so bring your camera! The IMS2014 committee received special permission from the United States Coast Guard for the high-flying show. You have front row seats!

On Monday, come register at the Tampa Bay Convention Center and stay for the party. If you have an IMS Badge, then you can access the event.
